What is counted
A word is any group of characters separated by spaces or line breaks. Characters are shown with and without spaces, because some limits (social media posts, application forms) count spaces and others do not.
Reading and speaking time
Reading time assumes 200 words per minute, an average silent reading pace. Speaking time uses 130 words per minute, which is helpful when preparing a speech or presentation.
